The result of the recent Rochdale by-election, where the Roman Catholic-raised anti-Semitic pro-Islamic quisling George Galloway won the seat (although with only a 39.7% turnout) was a national disgrace, and an insult to all those Israelis and other people around the world who have suffered at the hands of Islamic terrorism.

Galloway of course is a truly obnoxious character. He sided with Islamic forces both during the Gulf War (when he overtly hob-nobbed with the evil Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein) and during the War against Terror, when by openly calling for a victory for our enemies was de facto calling for the killing of British troops. It is therefore astonishing and sickening that any British elector should vote for such a vile character – but alas 12,335 did just this. It has been argued that all of the wretched Galloway’s support came from Mohammedans, but there are not 12,335 Muslims on the Rochdale electoral register, not even when the false names which immigrants place on the electoral rolls are taken into account! No, the most disgusting aspect of his victory was the fact that so many true Rochdale people were willing to vote for such an unspeakable character!

There has however been something very unsavoury about the town of Rochdale for some time. In 1972 the town elected the paedophile Cyril Smith at an earlier by-election, and the pervert Smith went on to be re-elected on five further occasions – three of which being after the allegations of his abuse of young boys at a local children’s hostel were first publicised! Then of course there have been all the notorious cases of child “grooming” in Rochdale. Although those responsible for this degeneracy have of course been exclusively Mohammedan immigrants, their “victims” alas haven’t needed much “grooming”!

Before we condemn the town of Rochdale too harshly, however, let us remember that such examples of sycophancy towards the Islamic aliens have worryingly become commonplace throughout the country. One only has to observe the footage of the pro-Palestinian (in reality pro-Hamas) demonstrations taking place in London to see that the majority of those taking part have not been Middle Eastern Asians, but White! Not only does this give a lie to the exaggerated claims by the Mohammedans about their numbers in the country (if they were as numerous as they claim then they wouldn’t need so many White scumbags to boost their numbers!) but it also shows how corrupted a large proportion of our people have become. The most offensive example of this is the way in which so many White traitors are prepared to refer to their own capital city by the derogative Islamic term of “Londonistan”! If these obnoxious people wish to live in a place with an Islamic name then let us respectfully suggest that they move to Pakistan or Afghanistan!

But what is the underlying cause for this corrupted and treasonable mindset amongst our own people – which after all has only come about since the conclusion of WW2? We would maintain that it has been due to the ascendency of liberalism and socialism within the political arena and egalitarianism within the theological arena. Only once this double-headed monster has been destroyed can our country be liberated from the alien immigrant invasion and Britain can become free again!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club staged a most successful AGM earlier this month, at which a full report of the organisation’s achievements during the previous year were reviewed, and a new member elected to the Executive Committee in order to fill a vacancy. After the business side of proceedings were concluded Committee member Gavin Sandeman gave some further most enlightening readings from the Sandeman Family Clan Magazine, this time about the adventures of some of the members of his illustrious family who had emigrated to Australia during the early part of the 20th Century.

The Springbok Club still hopes to be able to organise a trip to see a rugby match featuring a club with strong South African connections in the near future. On Saturday 27th April, however, the organisation will be staging a visit to Portsmouth in order to view HMS Victory and the Mary Rose (some members aim to make a weekend of this trip however, leaving on Friday 26th and returning on Sunday 28th), and on Sunday 5th May the Kent Branch of the organisation will be making a trip to see the famous Rochester Sweeps Festival. During the summer the Springbok Club will stage the first in a trilogy of events being planned at places associated with Frederick Courtney Selous (after whom the Selous Scouts were of course named). The organisation will also be welcoming two currently overseas-based supporters as guest speakers later during the year. The precise itinerary of these events will be finalised as soon as the dates of our overseas supporters’ visits are known, and will be detailed in future editions of the SCN.

PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS

The long-awaited re-constitution meeting of the Patriotic Forum is now expected to take place during the next couple of months. Once the formal re-constitution of the organisation has been enacted then regular monthly meetings will be resumed, and indeed half-a-dozen prominent guest speakers from the worlds of politics and journalism who have already agreed to speak for the organisation.

POPPYCOCK REGARDING CULLING OF WILD MAMMALS

Richard Drax, the Conservative MP for South Dorset, has proved to be an excellent Parliamentarian, being a firm supporter of Brexit in its truest form (i.e. opposing the Northern Ireland protocol) and being unafraid to condemn the “Black Lives Matter” subversives for desecrating the Cenotaph. It has been a great tragedy therefore that he recently besmirched his fine reputation by stating that it was “common sense” to initiate a widescale culling of wild mammals.

Having accurately stated that Bovine TB was a “major problem” in South-West Britain, he then went on to tell the House of Commons that: “Culling has proved to work, and can I suggest that rather than talking about stopping culling on badgers and to introduce some other form, that all wild animals have to be culled.”

Far from “common sense” this is absolute poppycock!

TB is truly zoonotic, it’s been here a long time and it takes only one spore to cause infection, and can lie dormant in the environment for fifty years. You could cull everything but the cattle and it would still remain within the herds – plus ‘bovine’ TB began life as human TB first of all!

CONTINUING VICTIMISATION OF RUSSIAN SPORTSMEN AND WOMEN

In the June 2022 Edition of the SCN we voiced our opposition at the fact that the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club were barring all Russian and Belorussian players from competing in that year’s All England Lawn Tennis Championships. Sadly the All England authorities did not see reason that year, and as a result both the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) suspended all ranking points from that year’s tournament. Happily this sanction had a positive effect, for Russian and Belorussian players were allowed to compete in the 2023 Championships – albeit pathetically they were not allowed to compete under the name or the flag of their countries.

Sadly these petty restrictions have been put in place at many – indeed most – international sporting tournaments around the world. As we have stated in the past, however, there is no reasonable reason why the sportsmen and women of these two countries should be blamed and forced to suffer restrictions because of the actions – or the perceived actions – of their governments. The conflict in the Ukraine (in reality a civil war) is of course tragic, and the sooner that the killing of Whitemen by other Whitemen can be stopped the better – but this cannot be achieved by the current pathetic restrictions being imposed against sportsmen and women in such a one-sided manner. With the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics rapidly approaching perhaps – just perhaps – if full representational rights could be restored for Russian and Belorussian competitors then the resulting comradely competitive spirit could contribute towards the ending of this tragic conflict,

MORE HYSTERICAL COVID-1984 NONSENSE EXPOSED

We have recently been informed about two quite disturbing examples of hysterical Covid-1984 lunacy which have now been exposed as the dangerous nonsense which they were.

The first appeared in the Daily Telegraph of 23rd February 2024 which read as follows: “The number of people dying due to Covid in England in January was around half the figure reported on the Government's dashboard in the same period, data show. The dashboard recorded 7,014 deaths in the first month of this year, but the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows there were 3,797 registrations in which Covid was the main cause of death. The disparity is caused because the dashboard includes any death that occurs within 28 days of a Covid test, meaning it sweeps up people who caught the virus but died from other causes. In total, 5,151 death registrations mentioned Covid in January, but in 1,354 cases it was not the primary cause.”

The second was a report sent to us by a supporter from Surrey which he received from the respected on-line news service Summit News, which read as follows: “UK health authorities considered ordering the euthanisation of all pet cats in the country during the first COVID outbreak, it has been revealed. Ex-Deputy Health Minister Lord James Bethell made the admission while trying to argue that governments were caught unawares in how to respond to the virus, remarking, ‘We shouldn’t forget… how little we understood about this disease. There was a moment we were very unclear about whether domestic pets could transmit the disease’ he said. ‘In fact, there was an idea at one moment that we might have to ask the public to exterminate all the cats in Britain. Can you imagine what would have happened if we had wanted to do that?’ Bethell claimed that ‘for a moment’ there was ‘a bit of evidence around’ the idea after a Siamese cat became the first in Britain to contract Covid-19, but that the plan was ‘closed down’ fairly quickly. Cat owners were told not to kiss their pets and to observe ‘observe very careful hygiene’ around them while keeping them indoors if a member of the household caught Covid. Denmark subsequently ordered a cull of its mink population thought to be carrying the virus, although Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen subsequently had to apologise for the order, admitting it was illegal. Bethell made the comments in light of the leak of tens of thousands of WhatsApp messages which shed light on the government’s botched response, which included the failure to carry out tests on all residents entering care homes. Mandating people to kill their beloved pets would have almost certainly failed as a policy given that vast numbers of people would have refused to do so. Killing pet cats was just one of numerous horrors almost visited on the British public in pursuit of a lockdown that went on to have a devastating impact and caused more harm than good. As we previously highlighted, another proposal was to separate children from their parents and hold them in quarantine camps if they were infected with the virus.”

So why did all the medicrats and others in authority have to resort to such lies about the extent and severity of the Covid-1984 virus, and then propose such outrageous ideas for controlling it? Certainly once the whole hysteria had been accepted by all the authorities around the world they realised that they would all have massive amounts of egg all over their faces if they were to admit that their initial predictions were wildly over the mark – but there was clearly something far more sinister at play here, and the full truth will probably only be revealed in several years or even decades time.

In the meantime it is essential that these latest revelations are circulated as widely as possible, and that as many other facts about the true nature of the alleged pandemic are exposed, so that never again will the people of the West be cowered into accepting such ridiculous and damaging regulations which alas so many unthinking sheeple complied with during the draconian and unnecessary “lockdown”.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?

No.304: Pastor NIGEL OWENS of Ballymoney

Nigel Owens (no relation to the homosexual Rugby referee!) was an ordained pastor of the Strict Baptist Church in Northern Ireland, but he briefly moved to the mainland in order to minister to one of the sect’s chapels in Essex. Here he met and married a delightful young woman from his congregation, and following her pregnancy moved back to Ulster with her. He was a staunch Loyalist and Imperial patriot, and once he heard about the Springbok Club joined the organisation and attempted to establish a Northern Ireland Branch. This attempt was not very successful alas, and perhaps because of this failure (or perhaps because his young wife did not completely share his political views) he left the organisation and took up a missionary appointment in the Chinese province of Manchuria. Evidently he did not stay for long in China however, and returned to Ulster, moving back into his family home in Ballymoney. Alas he never re-made contact with the Springbok Club, although initially the club’s circulars and correspondence sent to his last known address were not returned. More recently however items sent to him have started to be returned, as he has evidently moved once again. In spite of certain faults Nigel Owens was a good man, and it would be nice to be able to make contact with him again.

After having fled the country to avoid imprisonment by Mugabe’s corrupt regime Denis continued to support unfortunate people left behind and suffering from Mugabe’s disastrous policies that turned Rhodesia from the bread basket of Southern Africa into a basket case, through the works of the Rhodesian Christian Group right up until just before his death.

THE CURSE OF SPRINGBOK

Shortly after the death of the terrorist leader Mandela in 2013 we were sent a couple of amusing e-mail pictures in reaction to his demise from two different sources. Having a sense of humour and not feeling any particular sympathy towards a deceased terrorist, some of our supporters re-circulated these joke pictures quite widely. One was sent to a Mr. Herbert Woodgate, who evidently was believed to share our own patriotic sentiments, and indeed had served all his working career in the Ministry of Defence. The reaction to this was incredible however, for we received an e-mail back from Mr. Woodgate’s e-mail address saying that “we should be shot”! Initially of course we believed that this threat came from Mr. Woodgate himself, but we subsequently discovered that it had actually come from Mr.Woodgate’s wife Heather (née Stevens and formerly Watson), and that Mr.Woodgate was evidently very embarrassed about this incident.

Not a very nice person therefore was Ms.Stevens/Watson/Woodgate if she harboured sympathy for an evil terrorist leader, and threatened to “shoot” those who made light of his demise. We have recently learnt that Ms.Stevens/Watson/Woodgate has died however. She will now find it very difficult to shoot us therefore!

The fact that those who seek the breakup of the British nation have held power in one part of the United Kingdom, i.e. Scotland, is abhorrent, but the recent ascendancy of those who not only seek the destruction of Britain but who have used terrorist intimidation in Northern Ireland in order achieve their devilish aims, is a cause for even greater anguish.

The Sinn Fein/IRA terrorists have never obtained a majority of votes in Northern Ireland of course, and the main reason why they now hold the position of First Minister at Stormont is because of the bizarre and totally unfair electoral system which was foisted upon the people of Northern Ireland by the so-called “Good Friday Agreement” engineered by the New Labour Government of Tony Blair. Blair of course subsequently revealed where his true sympathies lay by his conversion to Roman Catholicism.

But it is not only the arcane electoral system now operating in Northern Ireland which should be blamed for this sorry current state of affairs, nor even the tame Catholic/nationalist minions who are brainwashed by their church and intimidated by threats of violence into voting the way they do, but perhaps more importantly the apathy, naivety and divisions among the majority Protestant/Unionist community.

Alas all too often those who are Loyalist at heart condemn “all politicians” without realising that no-one is perfect, and that voting is always the case of voting for the best option available, and that the ideal option is only very rarely available. By staying at home rather than voting just because of one or two petty disagreements with the Unionist candidates available they are in reality voting for the SF/IRA scum. Even more sickening are the increasing number of people from the Protestant community who are now prepared to vote for the ultra-liberal Alliance Party. Adherents of the various Protestant denominations on the mainland (indeed around the Western world) are notorious for holding ultra-liberal views on political and social matters, and alas this poison now seems to have spread to Ulster – to the detriment of the well-being of their own people. It seems like an “action replay” of what happened in South Africa during the 1980s, when most of the Calvinist Reformed churches abandoned their previous conservative positions in order to embrace “diversity” – and lost their entire country as a result!

But perhaps the worst self-inflicted wound enacted by the Unionist people has been their divisions and in-fighting. Although on the nationalist side of the spectrum SF/IRA have squeezed the non-terrorist nationalist SDLP into insignificance (playing the bizarre electoral system to their own advantage by allowing the SDLP ascendancy in a few certain seats), on the Loyalist side of the spectrum the UUP and the DUP continue to engage in self-defeating in-fighting with little thought of working the system to the advantage of Unionism as a whole. In addition of course there is the position of the hard-line Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) party, which although advocating most praise-worthy policies has adopted electoral tactics which can only benefit SF/IRA. Jim Allister made an excellent and powerful speech at Stormont when the SF/IRA subversives took their new seats – but how much more effective would it have been had he voiced this speech from within the UUP or the DUP?

We must be realistic however. Northern Ireland’s position within the United Kingdom now lies in the hands of the central UK Government. Years ago Enoch Powell argued that the best security for Northern Ireland was for full integration into the UK, and although the abolition of Stormont did not seem a good idea at the time the situation has now changed so radically that it is now perhaps the best option left available. We now therefore clearly need a British Government (and a radical change in British politics does now seem possible in the not too distant future) which is prepared to rip-up all of Tony Blair’s constitutional vandalism, which will not only mean the abolition of the Holyrood and Cardiff Bay quangos, but also the now desecrated Stormont.

The Springbok Club joined with the Patriotic Forum in order to celebrate both Burns Night and Australia Day last month. This proved a most enjoyable event, with full details of which being reported in the Patriotic Forum News section of this SCN.

Alas there was a mistake in last month’s SCN regarding the date of this year’s Springbok Club AGM. This will take place on Saturday 2nd March 2024. This AGM will commence at 16.00 hrs. at a venue in central London, and full details will be circulated to all fully paid-up members in due course. After the business side of proceedings have been concluded Mr. Gavin Sandeman (who has given the organisation several fascinating talks about the exploits of his illustrious family in southern Africa over the past few months) will give an illustrated talk about the Australian experiences of certain members of his extended family, and all supporters and friends of the Springbok Club, be they members or not, will be welcomed to attend this section of the day’s proceedings, which will commence at approximately 18.30 hrs. PATRIOTIC FORUM NEWS

The Patriotic Forum staged a most enjoyable and successful event last month in order to celebrate both Australia Day and Burns Night. The day’s activities started with a small ceremony at the bust of Admiral Arthur Phillip (who founded Sydney and became the first Governor of New South Wales) in the City of London – thus continuing the tradition initiated by the late, great Dennis Delderfield. At this ceremony a short speech was given, mentioning in particular the most encouraging result rejecting the kow-towing proposals at the recent Australian “Voice” referendum, and then the Australian National Anthem was sung – with heavy emphasis on the word “Young”! By chance a tourist party walked by during the ceremony, which included a couple of Australians – who of course appeared very impressed by what they witnessed! After the ceremony the Patriotic Forum party moved on to a near-by hostelry where they were joined by several other supporters for a traditional Burns Night haggis meal – with the haggis being addressed in the traditional manner!

NEWS FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS

In last month’s SCN we reported the sorrowful news that Mr. Brian Davies, the founder of the estimable Network for Animals organisation, had sadly died. We feared that this worrying development could mean the demise of the Network for Animals organisation, so we have therefore been very pleased and relieved to continue receiving their regular circulars – very distressing though many of the contents prove to be, as the following harrowing report from the “new” South Africa illustrates :-

“Freedom Park in South Africa is an impoverished, gang-infested nightmare for animals. Here, dogs and cats are routinely neglected and often viciously abused. They live surrounded by callous thugs who intentionally harm them just because they can. We have seen dogs burned with acid, brutally beaten, kicked almost to death, and starved to “teach them a lesson.”

”We found out just how dangerous on a routine visit to the community to treat and feed animals, when I was attacked while rescuing an injured mother dog and her puppies!

“A resident had alerted us to an alarming situation - a mother dog and her pups were being neglected and possibly abused. Mummy dog had a badly injured leg.

“Together with our partner Fallen Angels, we sprang into action and raced off to rescue the mother dog, now named ‘Trouble’, and her pups. But once we reached the tiny, miserable concrete enclosure where Trouble and her babies were being kept, the situation quickly escalated.

“While the owner’s son was happy for us to take the animals to treat them, his mother became enraged. Remaining calm but acting fast and decisively, we managed to remove Trouble and her pups to get them to safety.

“That’s when our luck turned…

“As we prepared to leave, a man attacked me with a brick, trying to hit me on the head with it.

“It was a very close call for me, but I am relieved to say that I escaped unscathed, and Trouble and her pups all made it to a veterinary clinic. The poor creatures all need URGENT medical care.

“Trouble has a torn knee ligament and needs surgery. She will be cared for by specialists for the next two months, and with your help, we will give her the treatment and care she deserves.

“Trouble’s puppies are all sick; they will be treated and loved, and once they are healthy, put up for adoption into homes carefully vetted by Fallen Angels.

“Fallen Angels does amazing work for animals in impoverished South African communities. They also have a wonderful agreement with pet owners in Mitchells Plain: if they have their pets sterilized, Fallen Angels will help feed and provide medical assistance to their animals. CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA’S SHAME

Shortly before the start of this year’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup the governing body of Cricket in the “new” South Africa, Cricket South Africa, announced that it was removing the team’s captain David Teeger. This wasn’t because of any loss of form, nor because he had committed any crime. David Teeger, who is Jewish, was relieved of the South African Under-19 captaincy simply because he had voiced his anger at the October 7th Hamas terrorist atrocity, and his consequent support for the State of Israel. In spite of widescale international objections to this outrageous decision Cricket South Africa refused to relent.

Our advice to David Teeger is that he should immediately start to make plans to emigrate to Israel. Cricket in Israel is not very strong at the moment, but David Teeger’s addition to the national team would have a very beneficial effect, not only through his playing skills but also because of its national psychological effect. Cricket internationally is after all sorely in need of another leading “first world” power!

MICHAELA STRACHAN BROKE OUR HEARTS

Most readers will probably be familiar with Michaela Strachan, the much respected and greatly admired broadcaster best known for being the co-presenter of the hugely popular BBC nature programmes Spring Watch and Autumn Watch etc.. What is less well known is that Michaela Strachan is no longer based in the UK but in South Africa, having been in a close personal relationship with the South African wildlife film director and cameraman Nick Chevallier for a number of years. Indeed their son is believed to be a pupil in the prestigious Bishops Diocesan College in Cape Town. It is of course weirdly strange that Michaela and her family should choose to reside in such a dangerous country as the “new” South Africa – but perhaps they think that money can buy you security? If so then they are wrong, for the wealthier you are perceived to be then the more likely you are to be targeted by the notorious Cape Flats criminal gangs. Clearly it would be far wiser if Michaela and her family were to relocate to the UK where her television career would undoubtedly flourish even further, and her son would have an infinitely better future in life for himself.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW ?

No.303: Mr. MERVYN ROBINSON of Durban.

Mervyn Robinson ran a highly successful computer business based in Buxton’s Village on the Moore Road in Durban during the 1980s. Although clearly a most intelligent person and an astute businessman he had the reputation of being a bit of an eccentric, and was nicknamed “The Mad Hatter” as a result. He was a practicing, though not fanatical, Roman Catholic and had a Polish wife. Very friendly and popular with all his contacts, he also was clearly a patriotic South African at the time. His main assistant in his computer business, which became known as Computerama, was a Finnish chap who went by the name of “Terror” – his actual Finnish name being pronounced very similar though spelt far differently. Like Mervyn himself “Terror” was a very friendly and able person. It would be very interesting to learn what happened to both Mervyn and “Terror”.

It is four years since this effort was started to remind the Afrikaner people group in South Africa about lost opportunities to take the lead in Article 235 repositioning of self-governance and proper use of the legal status of the fully signed, witnessed and disclosed but carelessly discarded and suppressed Afrikaner Accord of 23 April 1994. Now South Africa is powerless. South Africans are brutally manipulated by a new instrument of political torture after the controversial Covid Plandemic had failed to lead in the Great Reset. Where manipulated disease and a proxy war narrative failed, the national power grid in sunny South Africa is now the narrative with Stage 6 and Stage 8 load shedding, sabotage, diesel shortages, plant failures, bosses resigning, political lies and whimpering citizens. City water reservoirs are running dry, more businesses are failing since March 2020 and cold storage logistics chains are malfunctioning! SING NO MORE

Sir,

I received a video from an ex-MD who lives in Singapore. Singapore is of no particular interest to me or to you, however:-

By default it addresses a few questions that I have been asking for many, many years:-

What are the limits to growth? What is a sensible immigration policy? What is a sustainable population for any community? What about the quality of life rather than simply the quantity/material quality of life? What is a viable/sensible level of debt ?

The video lasted for about 14 mins. Singapore has changed dramatically in the past 40 or so years. A very modern City/State that looks exactly like so many, in fact ALL, of the "modern cities" that I have worked in. Cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Manama and so many others here in Canada and the US. No character, no individuality and no soul.

One big difference when it comes to immigration and citizenship is that the Mid-East countries that I mention here allow you in on a work permit/sponsorship basis. If the economy tanks then out you go. No risk at all to those countries as they have no debt, they are providers of debt funding/inward investors in the "developed world".

Expand your population? Grow your GDP, but not necessarily the wealth/standard of living of the working class/the middle class. The US must now pay out $2 Billion per day in servicing its federal debts, my province here in Canada has around or over $C100 Billion of debt. An ever bigger slice of the budgets pie chart must go on servicing these debts! Unsustainable. Must end in tears. I am surrounded by water but my various levels of government have not invested in the infrastructure necessary to store and treat the needs of an ever growing population. From today I will be breaking the law if I do any outside watering. Short term solutions to long term problems. Not going so well? Change the PM, change the Chancellor (the UK has had four of each in the past couple of years!). 6 million people across Canada without a GP and yet our population will grow by around 700K this year. 8 councils, or more, across the UK now bankrupt and under Section 114 protection. The latest was Birmingham who hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2022. Little Thurrock with debts of £1.3 Trillion, having invested taxpayers money in a non-existent solar farm. Croydon went into bankruptcy three times. The ex-CEO left with a £400K + golden goodbye.The list goes on and on. No worries though, they will all be bailed out by the taxpayer.

Maybe worth 14 minutes of my time, not for any interest in Singapore but for the wider implication.

I recently received the following report. This is South Africa very soon to come :-

“US Intelligence has suggested that South Africa’s government has deepened its military relationship with Russia over the past year, as accusations suggested a Russian cargo vessel subject to US sanctions docked in South Africa where the government is covertly supplied Russia with arms and ammunition that could be used in its war in Ukraine. THE ANC IS PLAYING WITH FIRE. Russia accounts for a paltry 0.2% of South Africa’s global export trade, while the US, UK, and the EU account for a combined 35%. This means South Africa is risking over 40% of its export revenue “

The South African government doesn’t seem to care. Russia is isolated; it can’t trade fluidly with 60 COUNTRIES LOCKED OUT BY SANCTIONS. Extreme Rand weakness and the collapse of government’s finances, most likely bankrupting South Africa to the point of mass food riots and total collapse of law and order in most cities with mass murder and arson. South Africa will likely face its worst economic crisis to date if it undergoes full sanctions from the West, lose the AGOA trade benefits and face sanctions from Western countries that will destroy its economy. ANC terrorists are playing Russian roulette – threatening the worst economic crisis in its history.

OBITUARIES

THE HON. WILFRED DENIS WALKER

It was very sad to learn of the recent death of Wilfred Denis Walker – always known simply as Denis Walker.

Denis Walker was born in London in 1933, and was a staunch Methodist, qualifying as a Methodist local preacher. His dour Christianity led to him volunteering as a Methodist missionary in southern Africa, serving firstly in South Africa and then gravitating north to the then Southern Rhodesia, Unusually for an austere Methodist he believed firmly that the then existing racial dispensation in southern Africa was the correct order of things, and joined the governing Rhodesian Front party of Ian Smith. He was selected as the RF candidate for Bulawayo North at the 1974 General Election, winning the seat with 93.4% of the vote, and holding it at both the 1977 and 1979 elections. He didn’t gain a position in government until after the transitional government was instituted in 1977 however, being appointed Junior [deputy] Minister of education, When the Zimbabwe-Rhodesia government of Abel Muzorewa was set-up in 1979 he was appointed as one of he two joint Ministers of Internal Affairs. Surprisingly he decided to remain in Parliament after Muzorewa capitulated to Mugabe’s ZANU/PF terrorists, but when he was threatened with arrest over an (undoubtedly trumped-up) charge of attempting to overthrow the government) he immediately moved back to the UK.

He based himself in Bishop’s Stortford (Cecil John Rhodes’s birthplace) and proved himself a man of boundless energy. He resumed his role as a Methodist local preacher in his local circuit and also established a successful computer supplies business. But it was through his continuing activism for patriotic and anti-communist organisations and causes where he made the most impact. He became Deputy Chairman of the Rhodesian Christian Group under the chairmanship of Father Arthur Lewis, and a trustee of the associated Zimbabwe-Rhodesia Relief Fund, and after joining the Conservative Monday Club quickly rose to become Chairman of that right-wing organisation. Most surprisingly he also founded and ran the Constitutional Monarchy Association, a most curious position to hold for someone who had been technically in rebellion against the Crown during the Rhodesian UDI years! During his final years he also accepted the position as Deputy President of the Romford Conservative Association, a position which he evidently took great pride in.

Denis Walker was Guest of Honour at the Springbok Club’s 2003 UDI Day Dinner, and gave an excellent and extremely well received speech. Alas attempts to retain contact with him and the Conservative Monday Club did not prove successful, and it is believed that this was because an attendee at this dinner said something to Denis which was completely out of order, which he erroneously believed reflected the views of the Springbok Club as a whole. Denis unfortunately was a very vinegary character, and had the tendency to see enemies where no enemies existed, for we know of at least three people with only vague connections to the Springbok Club who suffered ostracism as a result of similar unsubstantiated misunderstandings.

The Hon. Wilfred Denis Walker had his faults, but at this sad occasion of his death we prefer to remember his outstanding virtues of working tirelessly for the patriotic cause on two continents. Our sincere condolences are extended to his widow Jill (a delightful woman who we remember well from when he addressed the Springbok Club dinner in 2003), and to his son Trevor and his family.

BARRY JOHN

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Barry John. Barry John was born at Cefneithin in Carmarthenshire in 1945.His Rugby playing career started with his local village team Cefneithin RFC, but his outstanding talent as fly-half soon came to he attention of Llanelli RFC who he joined in 1964. He played his first international for Wales against the touring Australians in 1966, and soon established himself as Wales’s first choice fly-half. His half-back partnership with Gareth Edwards (now Sir Gareth Edwards) proved formidable, and was cemented even further when Barry John moved to Cardiff RFC to join Gareth Edwards in 1967.

Barry John was selected for the British Lions tour to South Africa in 1968 – the only time that he was to play in the country – but after playing in three winning matches against provincial teams he broke his collarbone during the First Test and had to return home. He had recovered in time for the 1969 season however, when Wales won both the Five Nations Championship and the Triple Crown. In 1970 he played twice against the touring Springboks, firstly for Wales in a match which resulted in a 6-all draw, and then for the Barbarians which saw the Baa-baas winning 21-12. Later in 1970 he was in the Welsh squad when Wales shared the Five Nations Championship with France, but in 1971 Barry John was a regular in the Welsh team which won the Grand Slam!

The high-spot of Barry John’s Rugby career was undoubtedly the 1971 British Lions tour of New Zealand, He played in 17 of the 26 matches on the tour, and in all four Tests in a series which the British Lions won 2-1 (with one draw). It was during this series that the New Zealand press gave him the nickname of “King John”, an appellation which he evidently didn’t like and became something of a millstone around his neck. The 1972 Five Nations Championship was marred by IRA terrorism, and as a result Wales didn’t play Ireland. They won all three remaining matches however, with Barry John being in the team each time. At the end of he Championship he dropped a bombshell however, by announcing that he was retiring from all competitive Rugby at the age of only 27. He gave as his reason that he simply couldn’t handle the fame and adoration which he received. He wished to play Rugby for fun, not in order to be revered. His premature retirement meant that he did not take part in the famous British Lions Tour of South Africa in 1974 – “The Invincibles”. He was replaced as fly-half for both Wales and the British Lions by Phil Bennett: some replacement!

In all Barry John played 25 times for Wales scoring 90 points, and 5 times for the British Lions scoring 30 points. Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife Janet (although separated they remained on good terms), his four children and eleven grandchildren.

To many people the fact that it is the “new” South Africa which has brought a charge of alleged “genocide” against the State of Israel at the International Court of Justice may seem strange – but not when it is remembered that the current regime in South Africa only gained power by way of a systematic campaign of terrorism. For them now to act as the legal arm of the Hamas terrorists is therefore not in the least bit surprising. It is simply a case of “Terrorists of the world unite”!

The charges which the “new” South Africa government has brought against Israel are obscene in the extreme. It was the Hamas terrorists who vilely escalated their war of attempted genocide against the Israeli people on 7th October 2023, and the Israeli authorities subsequently only did what any other self-respecting nation would have done in the same circumstances, namely to conduct military operations to track down those responsible for these evil crimes and to eliminate then. But what makes the current disgusting actions of the South African authorities even more sickening is the fact that their own regime are turning a blind eye to the current quasi-genocide campaign against White farmers and inner-city dwellers within their own country!

There has however been another perhaps significant aspect to this preposterous case. One of the first lawyers to make a submission on behalf of South Africa had the obviously Gaelic name of Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh. When investigations were made into this lady it was discovered that although she was born in London both her parents hailed from the Republic of Ireland. Now Irish Gaelic is a beautiful ancient language which is a noble heritage for everyone in the British Isles, but alas over the past couple of centuries it has regrettably become the preserve of the Irish republican movement – of which the terrorist IRA has of course been the most hideous component. Furthermore a check of the earlier high-profile legal cases which Ms. Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh has been involved with has shown a clear connection to extreme left-wing causes – of a type which Sinn Fein (the IRA’s political wing) avidly supports. In S.A.Patriot No.23 we carried a picture sent to us by a supporter from Northern Ireland showing a painting on a gable-wall-end in the republican-populated Falls Road area of Belfast featuring women fighters from the PLO (the main Palestinian terrorist organisation then waging war against Israel), Sinn Fein/IRA and the SWAPO terrorist organisation standing in unity. It seems therefore that 40 years on this alliance between Palestinian, Republican Irish and Southern African terrorist sympathisers still remains!

There have however been two sets of people who have now been exposed as complete idiots by this latest confirmation of the close links between Palestinian and South African terrorists. Firstly there are those South African Jews who, probably as a “knee-jerk reaction” to the excesses of European nationalism during the 1930s, openly sided with the ANC during the days of civilised rule. Of course not all South African Jews took this reprehensible stance, but alas many Jewish South Africans incredibly sympathised with the terrorists, even though it was clearly obvious even then that the ANC was a rabidly anti-Semitic body which posed a severe threat to the well-being of their own people.

Secondly there are those ideologues from the “off the edge” Right who seem to be living in a time-warp from before 1948 when the State of Israel was established. These paranoids who cling onto way-out conspiracy theories about “the Jews” being in control of the whole world must of course be dismissed out of hand, and those of them who claim to support their kith-and-kin in South Africa whilst at the same time as expressing sympathy with the Hamas terrorists who stand alongside the ANC must be exposed and condemned as the hypocrites which they are.

If instead of backing those leftist political parties such as the PFP which were sympathetic towards the ANC the majority of South African Jews had given their support to pro-separate development parties such a the Conservative Party of South Africa (CPSA) – and as we reported and praised in S.A.Patriot No.21 the leadership of the CPSA had established good and friendly contacts with the South African Jewish Board of Deputies in order to show that parties of the mainstream Right were not paranoid anti-Semites - then it is possible that civilised rule could have continued in South Africa. Had the true South Africa survived in this way then the country would today be ideologically-aligned with Israel rather than being the legal-arm of the Hamas terrorists!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club staged a most pleasant get-together.at Westcliffe-on-Sea in Essex in order to commemorate the Day of the Vow last month. This proved a highly enjoyable event, and it was particularly pleasing to be able to meet up with a long-standing supporter, originally from Durban but now from the Westcliffe area, who because of her disability has not been able to attend any Springbok Club activities before now, but who hopefully will be able to join the organisation for further events in future.

In June the organisation will be welcoming a most interesting South African guest speaker, and in July will be holding its annual Rhodes and Founders Day celebration, which this year will comprise of the first in a series of events to commemorate the life of Frederick Courtney Selous.

The Patriotic Forum will be continuing with the marvellous tradition initiated by the late, great Dennis Delderfield of celebrating Australia Day in London again this year. Assemble at the bust of Admiral Arthur Phillip in Watling Street behind St.Pauls Cathedral on Thursday 25th January between 15.45 hrs and 14.00 hrs (Admiral Arthur Phillip founded the settlement at Sydney and became the first Governor of New South Wales - and it will be Australia Day in Australia itself at that time!) where a short ceremony will be held and the original version of the Australian National Anthem will be sung. After this the Patriotic Forum party will move on to the near-by Sir John Hawkshaw Wetherspoons pub in Cannon Street Station where Gavin Sandeman will give an informal talk about the Australian connections of the Sandeman family, before Burns Night will be celebrated with a sumptuous haggis meal. SAD NEWS FROM THE NETWORK FOR ANIMALS

Most readers will undoubtedly recall that we regularly carried reports from the Network for Animals organisation in the SCN, particularly when they related to animal welfare in Southern Africa. We have now however received the sad new that the founder of Network for Animals, Mr.Brian Davies, recently died. Even though this news contained the revelation that Mr.Davies had made a controversial donation of £1 million to the Labour Party prior to the 1997 General Election in order to ensure that their promise to introduce legislation to ban the cruel practice of fox hunting in the UK would be carried out, we believe that Mr.Davies’s outstanding contribution to animal welfare around the world should be praised and never forgotten. Our sincere sympathies are therefore extended to Mr.Davies’s family and everyone associated with Network for Animals. The report which we received reads as follows:-

“Today we are saddened to share the news that our founder, world-renowned animal activist Brian Davies, has died at the age of 87 following a long illness. Brian died peacefully in his sleep on December 27, having built both Network for Animals (NFA) and Animal Survival International (ASI) into major organizations with 70 projects worldwide.

”Brian was an iconic figure in animal welfare, pioneering innovative campaigns to help animals and bring them succor around the world. Thanks to Brian, through Network for Animals, dogs, cats, donkeys and many other creatures in 26 countries have food, care and a compassionate voice fighting to improve their lives. Through NFA’s sister organization Animal Survival International (ASI), wild animals from pangolins to elephants have better lives.

“As an activist, Davies was formidable, fearless, wily, canny and utterly determined. During his legendary campaign against Canadian sealing, he was jailed for defying a government ban on flying to the Canadian ice to witness the cull, survived an apparent assassination attempt, and had so many death threats he left Canada and moved to the US. Eventually, Brian won when the European Union banned the import of baby seal pelts in 1987.

“Brian also played a pivotal role in the banning of fox hunting in England and Wales when in 1996 he controversially donated £1 million to the British Labour Party, believing that if Tony Blair won the 1997 general election, he would ban hunting with hounds. Blair indeed won, and anti-hunting legislation was passed. At the time, it was the largest single political donation in Britain’s history.

”Brian never forgot his debt to NFA and ASI supporters, interacting personally with as many as he could until his increasing frailty made doing so impossible. Brian struggled with ill-health in his later years, but he never lost his zest for life, his love for animals, or his sense of humor.

[ It was interesting to note that even though Josh Kerr was the run-away winner of our own Peter Dimmock Memorial British Sports Personality of the Year Award, he didn’t even feature in the official BBC Sports Personality of the Year short-list of nominations! This led to widespread criticisms, not least in the sports pages of the Daily Telegraph. The Daily Telegraph in fact even went further by listing a series of complaints about the current deplorable state of BBC sports coverage. These complaints centred mainly on the increasingly “woke” nature of BBC sports productions, and in particular on the increasingly outspoken extreme Leftist comments made by Gary Lineker. We wish the Daily Telegraph well in this campaign of theirs, and hope that as a result it won’t be long before there is a complete change in management at the BBC’s sports department, so that the British people can obtain decent coverage from their national broadcaster which truly reflects their own views and interests.]

DENMARK’S NEW MONARCH

It was of course a great surprise when Queen Margrethe II of Denmark announced on New Year’s Eve that she was abdicating the Danish Throne and handing over to her son Frederik, who thus becomes King Frederik X of Denmark. Queen Margrethe II was a good and internationally admired monarch, even though her reign alas aligned with Denmark’s entrapment within the European Union and a general decline in Western Civilisation. It was to be regretted of course that she twice lapsed into making controversial political statements, once to say that Danes should be more welcoming to immigrants and once to castigate her subjects for not abiding by the draconian Covid-1984 regulations then in force (by all accounts the Danish people were one of the most skeptical and defiant people in Europe when it came to all the ridiculous Covid-1984 restrictions, taking their lead from their fellow-Scandinavians the Swedes whose sensible government imposed extremely limited regulations!), but on the whole she rarely delved into political matters, and acted as a wonderful inspiration to all her people. We wish her well in her retirement, and also wish King Frederik X every success now that he has succeeded to the highest role. His omens actually look good, as with his Australian-born wife he seems to be a good friend of the British Commonwealth, so let us hope therefore that his reign will see Dexit come about!

A SINISTER RE-EMERGENCE

Long-standing readers will probably remember the disaster which befell the Swinton Circle (one of the component organisations which merged to form today’s Patriotic Forum) on Friday 31st July 2015, when a meeting to be held by the organisation was gate-crashed and wrecked by a group of completely uninvited political extremists. The planned guest speaker at this event was a Mr.Paul Weston who then ran an organisation called LibertyGB, who had been recommended by a then fast-tracked Committee member of the Swinton Circle named Paul Griffin. It soon however became apparent that Mr.Griffin was in-league with the gate-crashing disrupters, with apparently the aim of destroying the Swinton Circle and then taking-over the organisation’s position, but the part played by Mr.Weston in this whole sorry business was never ascertained.

The Swinton Circle survived of course by merging with New Britain and The 343 Group to form the Patriotic Forum, but shortly after the disaster we learnt that Mr.Weston had disbanded LibertyGB and had joined forces with another minor political organisation called For Britain. More recently, however, we learnt that For Britain had itself also been disbanded. This we thought would be the last that we ever heard about Mr.Weston, but alas we were wrong, as we have recently been sent a most disturbing video of a speech made by him from a supporter still based in South Africa.

In this speech Mr.Weston predicts (or is it hopes?) that Britons will be a minority in their own country by 2050. 2050!?! – that is only 26 years away! So what does Mr.Weston plan to do to ensure that his prediction (hope?) comes true? Does he plan to organise the mass killing of millions of British people? To most rational people this prediction of such a radical change in demographics is not only unbelievable but also deranged – but alas to many rather naïve people who actually believe the mischief-making exaggerations of the true numbers of non-Whites in our midst propagated by the BBC and other sections of the establishment, this prediction only engenders pessimism and fatalism. This outcome of course means that many of those who are genuinely concerned about the increasing number of non-White immigrants simply “give up the ghost” and cease all activism for the patriotic cause.

Perhaps Mr.Weston is just an idiot who bizarrely but honestly believes that Britons will become a minority within their own country within merely 26 years – or perhaps he has a far more sinister motivation here and is deliberately scheming to induce defeatism and hopelessness within our nation. Suddenly the disasters of 31st July 2015 seem to fit into place..

Peter Jennett was a computer expert operating in Durban during the mid-1970s, when he was a friend of Lorraine Fitzgerald (see December 2013 SCN). A friendly and affable person, he evidently spent some time in London during the early 1970s where he expected to encounter a lot of anti-South African sentiments – but was delighted to find that in the main the exact opposite was the case! Alas contact with him was lost during the early 1980s, but it would be nice to discover what became of him.

TAXING PROBLEMS

Sir,

In a recent e-mail I mentioned that 70% of the UK's FTSE 100 companies are foreign owned. Successive Westminster governments have travelled the world pleading for "Inward Investment". Probably started with Thatcher and "We are open for business", but her many successors sold off most, if not all, strategic industries. Highlighted very recently by the scandal of Thames Water and its daily sewage leaks into local rivers (340 / day and many fines over the years). This strategic company is Australian owned. Its finance company is based in the Cayman Islands. It pays high rates of interest to the Caymans against its loans, high dividends into Oz and high salaries and bonuses to its management, Oh yes, and it has those fines to pay. It does not therefore make a profit and pays no corporation tax. Anglia Water is owned by Abu Dhabi's government and pension funds here in Canada and in Australia it must pay reliable and regular interest payments and dividends. Another water company heavily fined for leaking raw sewage into local rivers. Northumbrian Water owned by Hong Kong based entrepreneur Li Ka-Shing. Last year he took £100 million in dividends and is paid an interest rate of 11% on the funding he has provided to the company. He also has significant involvement in the UK government's social housing programme, guaranteed returns, no risk and probably no tax. Very clever people know exactly how to navigate and "abuse" the UK's corporate and personal taxation systems, all of these people are non-doms and operate behind brass plate companies and trusts. My old mate in Bombay/Mumbai Mr Ratan Tata, the emeritus Chair of Tata Industries purchased, and resold, British Steel. I think that he still owns Jaguar/Rover Cars and Tetley Tea. Tata Industries made over £6 Billion in profits in 2022 (telecom, steel, cars and chemicals) and is reported to have been offered/received a £500 Million payment to build an electric car battery plant in Somerset. Shades here of Trudeau/the Ontario government and payments plus guarantees to VW for a battery plant in Ontario.

Selling off a nation's strategic industries and services makes that nation highly vulnerable. It does/did provide a short term boost to the exchequer to pay down the nation's massive debts and keep certain services ticking over, albeit in an ongoing state of crisis but it also creates opportunities for foreign "entrepreneurs” to exploit. Buy, cut costs, no or minimal investment in new infrastructure, creative accounting, if possible zero/minimal corporation tax and sell on or be bailed out by the government/taxpayer. The UK is a massive importer of almost everything including around 40% of its food needs. Global political problems, supply problems and inflated prices? The taxpayer picks up the tab. Canada may not be as exposed but is still highly dependent on the US for its exports and US organisations do have massive investments in Canada. Those UK water companies and current world events have highlighted how exposed and vulnerable certain economies have become in this interdependent global economy.

OBITUARIES

SYD MILLAR C.B.E.

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of John Sydney “Syd” Millar. Syd Millar was born at Ballymena in Northern Ireland, and was educated at Ballymena Academy where he excelled at Rugby, playing initially as outside-half before switching to the front-row, positions which were far more suitable for his build.

After leaving school his wanderlust persuaded him to joined the Merchant Navy, but Ballymena RFC, who he had started playing for even before leaving school, were keen not to lose their front-row talent, so – in the days when Rugby Union was still strictly amateur – they arranged for him to have a series of jobs in his home town. His Rugby prowess soon propelled him into the Ulster team, and then into the Irish national side, with him making his debut against France in Paris in 1958. He was selected for the British Lions Tour to Australia and New Zealand in 1959, playing in the two winning Test sides again Australia, but being dropped after playing in the First Test against New Zealand. He was back in the British Lions squad which toured South Africa in 1962 however – the start of his long and affectionate association with South Africa – and this time played in all four Tests, although never being on a winning side. He toured South Africa again in 1968, this time playing in two Tests, though again being defeated both times. In all he played 37 times for Ireland and 39 games for the British Lions, including 9 internationals.

But it was as a coach and Rugby administrator that Syd Millar really made his mark. He served as Ireland’s Head Coach from 1973 to 1975, during which time Ireland won the 5 Nations championship in 1974. In that same year he gained his highest achievement which was to give him lasting fame, for he was chosen as coach on the famous 1974 British Lions tour of South Africa. That tour party, because of their unbeaten record, became known as “The Invincibles” – but it wasn’t their success on he Rugby pitch which made this tour so historically significant, but rather the fact that anti-South African left-wing fanatics did their utmost best to ensure that this tour never took place. As a result it was an act of extreme bravery by every player and official to agree to take part – an act of personal courage which was greatly respected by all decent people around the Western World at the time, the memory of which still endures to this day.

Following this successful and historic tour Syd Millar was chosen as a selector for the British Lions tour of New Zealand in 1977, before being appointed as manager of the 1980 tour to South Africa, a country which he held an increasing love for. Although not so successful as the 1974 tour on the field (the Lions lost the series 3-1) increasing threats by extreme anti-South African groups in the UK meant that it was still an act of great personal bravery to take part in this tour, and again all those who had the courage to participate should still be held in the highest esteem as a result. Syd Millar subsequently became manager of the Irish national team, which in 1987 reached the quarter-finals of the inaugural Rugby World Cup, before turning his skills to administering world Rugby. He became Vice-Chairman of the International Rugby Board in 2002, stepping up to become Chairman the following year, in which capacity he supervised both the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups, before finally retiring from Rugby administration in 2007 – although he thereafter became President of Ballymena RFC and retained his connection to the club for the rest of his life.

Syd Millar was not only a great Rugby player and administrator – he was also a great human being. He worked hard and he played hard, and respected all the players under his control, thereby bringing out all their strengths and gaining their full loyalty. In November 2014 the Swinton Circle (the predecessor of today’s Patriotic Forum) was addressed by Ian Paisley, the MP for North Antrim, and he mentioned during the questions-and-answers session afterwards that one of his proudest boasts was to have Syd Millar as one of his constituents, and that he felt honoured to know him personally. Such was high respect in which the man was held in Ulster. He was awarded the MBE in 1988, upgraded to a CBE in 2005, and was granted the Freedom of the town of Ballymena in 2009. Our sincerest condolences are extended to his daughter and his two sons.

J.P.R. WILLIAMS M.B.E.

It was with great shock and sorrow that we recently learnt of the death of John Peter Rhys Williams. “J.P.R. Superstar”, as he was almost universally known, was born at Bridgend in 1949, the son of two GPs (this present writer had the honour of sitting next to his mother at the Fourth Test between South Africa and the British Lions at Ellis Park, Johannesburg, in 1974!), and was educated at Bridgend Grammar School and then Millfield, where he showed precocious talents both academically and on the sports fields.

His first sporting success was at Lawn Tennis, where he won the National Junior Championship at Wimbledon in 1966 – beating David Lloyd in the final! After this success he turned his sporting skills entirely towards Rugby however. He played at full-back exclusively from his schoolboy days, and revolutionised the position, turning it from a purely defensive position, simply catching high balls and tackling opposing players before deposing of the ball, to an attacking position running with the ball as soon as it had been caught or gathered. His try for the Barbarians in their match against Leicester in 1969, when he gathered the ball in his own 25 before running the whole length of the pitch and then scoring, has been immortalised by all who witnessed it, and set the benchmark for all future full-back play.

He first played for Bridgend RFC, and it was whilst playing for them that he was first selected for Wales, being included in their squad to tour Argentina in 1968. The time and expense involved in commuting to Bridgend from London after he began his medical studies at St.Mary’s Hospital proved prohibitive however, and was persuaded by John Dawes to join London Welsh, for whom he played for the next eight years, until he returned to play for Bridgend. He won his first full international cap against Scotland in 1969, after which he was an ever-present part of the all-conquering Welsh side of the 1970s – considered by most to be the greatest home international side of all time.

J.P.R.’s greatest and most memorable appearances came whilst playing for the British Lions however. He was selected for the famous 1971 tour of New Zealand (the only series which the British Lions have ever won in New Zealand) playing in all four Tests and scoring an outrageous drop goal at Auckland in the final Test from almost on the half-way line in order to secure a draw, and thus victory in the series! He was also a natural selection for the historic 1974 British Lions Tour of South Africa (“The Invincibles”), again playing in all four Tests of this heroic tour, when all players had to endure threats and intimidation from extremist anti-South African elements who tried to stop the Tour, yet practically all of them bravely stood their ground in order to honour their commitments to their South African kith and kin.

J.P.R. continued playing for Wales after this Tour, captaining them in their 5 Nations Championship and Triple Crown winning campaign of 1979, until finally retiring in 1981. In all J.P.R. played 55 times for Wales and winning 8 international caps for the British Lions. In 1977 he was awarded a richly-deserved MBE.

But Rugby wasn’t J.P.R.’s only great achievement in life. He followed his parents into a career in medicine, qualifying as an orthopaedic surgeon at St.Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1973, before becoming a senior house surgeon at first the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff, and then at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. He once wittily observed that he spent half of his life breaking bones on the Rugby field, and the other half putting them back together again as an orthopaedic surgeon. He finally retired from medicine in 2004, but continued his support and active involvement for Bridgend RFC right up until his dying day. Our sincerest sympathies are extended to J.P.R.’s wife Scilla and their four children.

As 2023 draws to a close we seem to detect that a complete sea-change has been taking place, largely below the surface, throughout the West – and a sea-change very much for the better!

Away from the two main international flashpoints of the year – Russia’s military intervention in the Ukraine and Israel’s response to Hamas terrorism in the Gaza Strip – a perhaps even more dramatic global development has taken place recently, namely the surprise triumph of the Party for Freedom (PVV) at the recent Netherlands General Election. Even though the traditional plethora of single-issue political parties in the Netherlands means that the PVV could not obtain an overall majority, they did even so emerge as by far the strongest party, who must form a dominant faction in the next Dutch government. By so doing they have caused an earthquake in the European Union (EU)!

But it is not just in the Netherlands that the forces of the patriotic Right have proved to be on the ascendancy. Patriotic parties had earlier made significant breakthroughs in both Italy and Sweden, and of course patriotic governments have been in place in both Hungary and Serbia for some time (the latter though of course being outside the EU). With nationalist parties and movements also making massive advances in other European countries – particularly in France – it seems clear that the days of the wretched multi-national EU are now numbered.

In Britain the situation seems to be potentially even more encouraging. The takeover of the traditionally patriotic Conservative Party by foreign elements who clearly have no loyalty or interest in their country of residence has predictably resulted in the destruction of this once great party, as they have been decisively defeated in by-election after by-election in previously rock-solid safe seats. At the same time the disparate factions which resulted from the redundancy of UKIP/The Brexit Party seem to have coalesced around the Reform UK Party, who are now establishing themselves as a viable opposition patriotic alternative. Perhaps of even greater long-term significance has been the establishment of the GBNews TV channel which gives a voice to many expressions of patriotic sentiment which have for long been ignored by the mainstream media.

Elsewhere around the Western World the situation seems much the same. In the United States all observers – including even those of the liberal-left – now agree that Donald J. Trump is a shoo-in for the GOP presidential candidacy in 2024, with far more being resigned to the fact that he is also the likely winner in November than was the case in 2016! Meanwhile in Australia the ALP government of Anthony Albanese took a drubbing at the recent Indigenous Voice Referendum so decisive that it is very difficult to see them ever recovering.

It seems therefore that the brief ascendancy of the untermenschen which emerged during the height of the Covid-1984 hysteria in the form of the “Black Lives Matter” mentality has now come to an abrupt end. With epoch-marking elections looming in both the US and the UK next year where a sea-change of fortunes as fundamental as that in the Netherlands seems highly likely, the triumphs of 2023 are poised to be accelerated during 2024. The days ahead will inspire us!

SPRINGBOK CLUB NEWS

The Springbok Club held a most successful and enthusiastic buffet-meeting last month in order to celebrate UDI Day. There was a good turnout with several supporters attending an event for the first time, and as a result a number of new friendships were made, as well as many old ones cemented! The guest speaker was Mr. Stuart Agnew, the former UKIP MEP for the East of England, who gave an masterful speech about his years living in the then Rhodesia (illustrated with some immaculately drawn maps), and then telling something about his experiences appearing on the Farage programme on GBNews. After Stuart’s enthralling speech everyone enjoyed the sumptuous array of buffet-snacks which had been provided, before finishing the day with a convivial social get-together.

The Patriotic Forum will be staging its long-awaited re-constitution meeting at which a re-established Executive Committee will be elected and policies and activities for the future agreed upon early in the New Year. We have recently received the following most worrying report from the Network for Animals organisation about the plight of cats and dogs in the “new” South Africa. It reads as follows:-

“It is the festive season, and a time to celebrate and share gifts with those you love. It is a time for happiness, but for many animals, the holidays are a time to dread – because when the festive season begins, animal shelters are bombarded with abandoned dogs and cats.

“When some people go on holiday, their pets become a nuisance – so they dump them on the street or at a shelter, never giving another thought about them or even considering the cruelty they inflict on these creatures who love them.

“Some people will even abandon an older dog in favour of a young puppy.

“To animal lovers like you and us, it’s incomprehensible that people could do such things, but for our South African partner TEARS, it could not be more real.

“Our partner TEARS experiences a massive surge in the number of animals dumped at its shelter over the holidays.

“These animals have only one hope: You.

“The TEARS shelter serves one of the toughest and most dangerous Cape Town slums. People there are poor, and very few have the vaguest idea of how to treat animals.

“In normal times, TEARS cares for 120 dogs and puppies, and 140 cats and kittens. During the holidays, they will have an extra 300 cats and 500 dogs – abandoned by their owners and found by our team, sick or injured, on the streets.

“Another 300 dogs and cats will be dumped at the shelter (many owners say they will collect their pets after the holidays, but only 10% of them ever return). Others lie and say they found an animal on the street – when actually, they simply no longer want their pet! No animal deserves to endure this terrible trauma and disappointment.

“The only consolation is that the dogs and cats find themselves in the care of the compassionate and dedicated TEARS team – but without your help, this care would be impossible.

“We need your support today to bolster TEARS’ resources so the shelter can take in tragic animals, thrown away like old wrapping paper by their ‘families’, this festive season.

“Without TEARS, there would be nowhere for these now-homeless animals to go – but TEARS is financially stretched and turned to our supporters for help. TEARS never turns a sick or abandoned animal away. Please donate right now to ensure that we and our partner can continue to save lives during this holiday season.

THE 2023 WORLD CUPS

The “new” South Africa must be congratulated for their victory in this year’s Rugby Union World Cup, even though this victory only came after three narrow one-point wins! The thing which made this victory even more remarkable was the fact that for the players who were still based in the “new” South Africa (most White players now being based in either Europe or Japan) even to go out for an evening training session means taking their lives in their own hands, so bad is the anarchy and chaos now engulfing the country!

The “new” South Africa was not so successful at the 2023 Cricket World Cup of course, but even so by reaching the semi-finals they far exceeded expectations. Australia’s triumph in the competition was both exciting and inspiring of course. Once again Australia proved that they are head-and-shoulders above most other cricketing powers, and we cannot help wondering whether had South Africa not fallen to the forces of darkness they would have been able to be a constant match to the Aussies. The other great achievement of the competition was the performance of the Netherlands team, who defied predictions that they would not win a single match. With the former power-house of world cricket, the West Indies, having declined in standard so much that they did not even qualify for this year’s tournament, does this mean that there is now a growing shift in cricketing dominance from the third world to Europe?

THE DUBLIN RIOTS

The recent riot in central Dublin in protest against the escalating influx of third world immigrants into the Republic of Ireland evidently came as a big shock to the Irish establishment. Perhaps it shouldn’t have been such a great surprise however, for in percentage terms there are now more non-Whites living in Dublin than in Greater London – and indeed more in the Republic as a whole than in the UK! The most ironic aspect of this riot however were the flags and placards on display. There were several Republic of Ireland tricolours and placards reading “Irish Lives Matter” – these subsequently being condemned by the current Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as “racist”! But when the Republic of Ireland was established in 1922 (albeit initially as the Irish Free State) by nationalist trouble-makers, for whom the tricolour was of course their symbol, they stated that they wanted independence from their fellow Britons because they regarded them as “foreigners” and didn’t want to endure “foreign rule” any longer! Now however, after 101 years of “independence”, their island is flooded with true foreigners, and they even have a foreign Taoiseach! It could be argued of course that the situation is only slightly better in the UK, with both lands enduring a non-White invasion and an Indian head-of-government – though Rishi Sunak is at least a heterosexual! What is needed now surely is a united front by all Britons on both sides of the Irish Sea in order to oppose both the foreign invasion and the imposition of true foreign rule!

No.301: Mr. LAO WATSON-SMITH of Rhodesia and Woodbridge.

Lao Watson-Smith was born into a farming family in Rhodesia who had to flee the country after being terrorised following the advent of “Zimbabwe” under the ZANU/PF regime. He settled at Woodbridge in Suffolk and helped to establish the Zimbabwe Agricultural Welfare Trust (ZAWT). He made contact with our movement some years ago, informing us about a fund-raising venture for the ZAWT in London, but unfortunately a mix-up over time meant that we weren’t able to rendezvous with him as planned. We did however maintain written communication with him for a while, until invitations to Springbok Club events sent to his last known address in Woodbridge started to be returned to us, as he was evidently no longer living at this same address. His name was mentioned favourably at a recent Springbok Club activity however, so it would therefore be great if we could learn his latest contact details.

Re. Boris Johnson - he imposed the net zero nonsense on us!

I wrote to the BBC about the Windrush Generation. Their descendants have left us with drug gangs, crime, graffiti in the cities, single mums etc.. The BBC are running a “woke” series on Radio 4 about them.

Also our local council flew the homosexual pride flag last week. I moaned to them. Now they are flying the Armed Forces Flag!

I am also astounded at the Albanian criminals we see in London. I am writing to the Metropolitan Police about this.

OH CANADA

Sir,

I do not have any "special" stories for you from British Columbia, Canada, but we have the same political system. Any idiot can become an MP or PM. Join a party, repeat like a mantra the parties dogma on every subject, never ever embarrass the party by touching on sensitive un-“politically correct” subjects and donate lots of Dollars to the Party! Of course Canada is a massive country, the second biggest on the planet. Each Province has quite a lot of autonomy. Despite its wealth we have 6 million people across Canada without a general practitioner, 1 million in BC alone. Our health authority (Vancouver Coastal Health) now sends cancer patients down to the US for surgery in an effort to cut down waiting lists. Canada does have massive natural resources, every kind of mineral from mining, forestry, oil and gas fields, fisheries etc., and we do have the world's biggest economy, and our biggest export market, the USA, on our doorstep. We also have massive debts.

Trudeau and his left-wing government have increased the civil service by 40% to 357,247 since 2015, and this is only the Federal government. I must also pay taxes to the government of BC, to my regional district government and my local district! Of course as Canada's population continues to grow by around 750,000 per annum then the civil services, taxes and all social services must grow to cope, however that means taking on more debt! Trudeau is paying VW over $13 Billion over 10 years to build a plant in Ontario to manufacture batteries for electric cars. He is committed to "Net Zero" whatever the costs and consequences. Fortunately here in BC we do have lots of hydro-power. The government of Ontario has purchased the land on which this VW plant will be built, 1500 acres of what was farmland. All high risk and all financed by the taxpayer.

Immigration, refugees and asylum seekers, the support services necessary to support these people, the ever increasing levels of government debt etc can simply never be mentioned. Very difficult here, as there, to see how the situation can improve. Where will the new wealth come from? The demands on ALL services will continue to grow as our populations continue to grow. A very recent report stated that AI will replace 30 to 40% of all existing jobs.

Gang crime, the drugs trade, the lack of social and affordable housing are just examples of ongoing major problems here in BC. I am now on phase 2 water restrictions and yet am surrounded by water!

One bizarre story is that Drax Power up there in Yorkshire owns forestry companies here in BC, north of where I live. They clear cut the forest, reduce the trees to pellets and ship them across the planet to Yorkshire to burn and power Drax Power Station - the biggest wood fired power station on the planet. This whole operation produces massive amounts of C02. All subsidized by the UK taxpayer. Sadly two members of the governments Climate Change Committee, the Chairman John Selwyn Gummer and board member Dr Rebecca Heaton, are very much commercially involved with Drax. Selwyn Gummer's private company has Drax as a client and Heaton is a director of Drax Power. Just one example, amongst very many, of conflicts of interest.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE

This is South Africa very soon to come....

US Intelligence has suggested that South Africa’s government has deepened its military relationship with Russia over the past year, as accusations suggested a Russian cargo vessel subject to US sanctions docked in South Africa where the government covertly supplied Russia with arms and ammunition that could be used in its war in Ukraine. THE ANC IS PLAYING WITH FIRE.

Russia accounts for a paltry 0.2% of South Africa’s global export trade, while the US, UK, and the EU account for a combined 35%. This means South Africa is risking almost 40% of its export revenue.

The South African government doesn’t seem to care....

Russia is isolated; it can’t trade fluidly with 60 countries, LOCKED OUT BY SANCTIONS. The extreme weakness of the Rand and the collapse of government’s finances will most likely bankrupt South Africa to the point of mass food riots and total collapse of law and order in most cities, with mass murder and arson. South Africa will likely face its worst crisis to date if it undergoes full sanctions from the West that will destroy its economy. ANC terrorists are playing Russian roulette – threatening the worst economic crisis in its history.

OBITUARIES

PETER PENFOLD

It was with much sadness that we learnt of the recent death of Peter Alfred Penfold. Born during 1944 in Norfolk, Peter Penfold joined the Foreign Office in 1963, and unusually for a grammar school boy rather than a public school boy, he quickly rose through the diplomatic ranks. After serving in Bonn and Nigeria he was appointed Deputy High Commissioner to Uganda and then Governor of the British Virgin Islands, before achieving the pinnacle of his diplomatic career and lasting fame as High Commissioner to Sierra Leone.

Peter Penfold’s appointment to Sierra Leone in 1997 came during the start of a civil war in that erstwhile British colony, which resulted in the overthrow of the elected government. But his arrival in Freetown to take up his position was far from normal, for instead of flying there direct he drove all the way from Dakar to Freetown in his Range Rover. This act of derring-do was typical of the man, and afterwards he stated that he did it in order to show people that if he could travel across the country then so could they. No sooner was he ensconced in Freetown than he started organising the evacuation of thousands of Britons and other foreign nationals, braving gunfire in so doing. He also managed to supervise the escape of the popular elected president Kabbah, who had been overthrown by the rebels, to Guinea, and then assisted him in establishing a government-in-exile. In this he was fully supported by Tony Blair’s recently elected New Labour Government (one of the few praise-worthy actions of the early years of Blair’s administration!), and then secretly arranged for Kabbah to receive private military assistance from Lieut.Col. Tim Spicer’s Sandline mercenary company. This resulted in Kabbah being restored to power, but it didn’t meet with the approval of the then EuroCentric Foreign Office mandarins, or with Tony Blair’s ultra-Leftist Foreign Minister Robin Cook! It did however result in him receiving massive appreciation from the Sierra Leone natives, who lionised him and hailed him as a hero - with the restored Kabbah government even giving him the title of a Paramount Chief! Ironically – and sickeningly – in spite of this great triumph for British foreign policy, which brought the country renewed prestige and influence in not only Sierra Leone but also much of West Africa, Peter Penfold was ostracised by the Foreign Office mandarins, who not only refused to give him any further meaningful appointments, but also denied him any further honours to add to the OBE which he had gained in Uganda.

By his brave and inspiring actions in Sierra Leone Peter Penfold showed that he was cut from the same cloth as the great British colonial governors of the 19th and early 20th centuries, and by so doing gave the lie to those who claimed - and continue to claim - that British Imperial power was all in the past. His actions therefore act as an inspiration to those who assert that with sufficient will and determination British global hegemony can be re-established. Our sincere condolences are extended to Peter Penfold’s widow Celia and to his four children.

Dr. DAVID ABBOTT

It was with much sorrow that we recently learnt that Dr. David Abbott had died in 2020. Dr. David Frederick Abbott MRCP was born at Southampton in 1943, and trained and qualified as a doctor of medicine, practicing as a general practitioner not only in his native Hampshire but also in the United States. He was a proud British patriot and also a great advocate of the preservation of the British countryside, being a staunch supporter of the Council for the Protection of Rural England. He was a long-standing member of the Swinton Circle, and through it becoming aware of the Springbok Club which he subsequently joined, though alas due to his failing health he was never able to become an active member. Our sincere sympathies are expressed to his widow Catherine and to his two children and two grand-children.
