June 2010 Edition.

June 2010 edition
We must admit that we anticipated that the 2010 Soccer World Cup would never take place in South Africa, but somehow, incredibly, this major global sporting tournament has now begun in the most unlikely and unsuitable of locations. The opening ceremony, featuring the bizarre sight of a giant dung-beetle rolling a giant football, seemed very apt however. As a metaphor for the "new" South Africa surely nothing could have been more appropriate!

In the "World Cup Willies" columns of previous editions of the SCN we have highlighted just some of the problems which have plagued the preparations for the competition - which even some of the tournament's most vociferous cheer-leaders had been forced to admit. Ominously, however, in spite of all these set-backs, the competition still kicked-off on time, with apparently all problems sorted out at the last moment.

How could this have come about? In spite of being almost completely ignored by the media is seems certain that FIFA had to step-in and micro-manage the planning to a degree which they have never done in the past.
All the major new stadiums and communications structures have been designed and constructed by foreign (mainly German and Chinese) companies, and - in spite of denials from the "new" South African authorities - it seems clear that massive overseas labour (particularly from the DPRK) had to be imported to ensure everything was finished in time.

At the Durham Union Society debate on this subject of 13th May (which was reported in last month's SCN) one of the students who spoke from the floor observed that all this foreign involvement in the organisation of the World Cup was actually a sign of neo-colonialism. This was a viewpoint which we'd never considered previously, but as more revelations come to light the more accurate it seems to be. If any good is to come from the World Cup being played in the "new" South Africa then the greater Western involvement in the affairs of the country is surely it.

At the time of writing there has been no major "spectacular" marring the tournament, yet already a number of significant indicators about the true conditions in the "new" South Africa have occurred, namely :-

1) A stampede outside the Makhulong Stadium at Tembisa on the East Rand during a warm-up match between Nigeria and the DPRK, which caused serious injuries to 20 people including a policemen.
2) The bus crash near Nelspruit on the eve of the competition in which three British students were killed - thus confirming the terrible "third world" state of South African roads and/or driving standards.

3) The revelation that over 10% of "hospitality" tickets to matches remained unallocated by the organising committee.

4) The death of a great-granddaughter of a terrorist leader in a road accident after returning from a tournament opening concert - thus again confirming the terrible state of South African roads and/or driving standards.

5) A power-cut in Soweto during news broadcasts following the opening ceremony - which was described as "common in these parts".

6) Over 6,000 empty seats at England's opening match against the USA in Rustenburg - something which would never have occurred had this match been played practically anywhere else on earth.

Our predictions for the rest of the tournament are now as follows :-

1) The competition will somehow muddle through to the end.

2) There will be many cases of murders and muggings of visiting supporters which will remain under-reported - or unreported - in the international media.

3) There will be major failures in facilities and stadium construction problems, which again will be mainly ignored by the overseas media.

4) Law and order will increasingly breakdown away from the major centres, as so much SAPS manpower will be concentrated upon trying to protect teams and spectators.

5) Once the tournament is over, and the local Blacks realise they have gained nothing from it, there will be a massive backlash - added to which most of the new stadiums will quickly fall into disuse and decay.

6) FIFA will never admit their grave mistake in holding the tournament in such an unsuitable country.

Only time will tell.

Last month the Springbok Club/ELC staged a historical walking tour of the Stepney area of the east end of London conducted by Mr. Gary Vincent. Among the sites visited were the grave of Admiral Sir John Leake in St. Dunstan's churchyard, and the site of Capt. James Cook's house. This proved to be a most happy and enjoyable event, with a higher attendance than at the previous historical walking tour staged by the organisation, and as a result further such trips are planned for the future.

Details of the June meeting of the Springbok Club/ELC are as follows :-

Guest Speaker :  Mr. STEVE CRUMP

Date :  Tuesday 29th June 2010

Time :  19.00 hrs.

Venue :  The PERSEVERANCE  (the upstairs Function Room), 11 Shroton Street, Marylebone, London NW1 6UG (nearest station: Marylebone. Leave Marylebone Station via the Harewood Avenue exit and turn right, then first left into Hayes Place which automatically becomes Shroton Street. The Perseverance is then on the right-hand side.)

Sittingbourne-born Steve Crump was educated at the University of Sussex before service in the Royal Marines. A career in humanitarian aid was to follow with Steve working with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Bosnia and with the Mines Advisory Group in Angola and Namibia (South-West Africa). When a young family intervened Steve moved to become the Chief Executive of the cleft lip and cleft palate charity, Operation Smile UK. A chance encounter with Chris Cocks led Steve to establish 30 Degrees South UK, the UK's leading retailer of books on conflict in Africa. Personal experience of deafness saw Steve set up the social enterprise Action Deafness Books. He is also a Director of Sausage Dog Publishing and a trustee of WarChild. He has just started writing his first book - "Wargaming Modern African Conflicts: The Rhodesian War and the South-West African Conflict". In his talk Steve will tell something about his own military experiences, and also about 30 Degrees South UK and the books which they have published and retail.

On Thursday 8th July the Springbok Club/ELC will be celebrating Rhodes & Founders Day with a special buffet in central London, at which the guest of honour will be the author of an acclaimed biography of Charles Rudd, one of the leading members of the Pioneer Column which founded Rhodesia in 1890!

In August the Springbok Club/ELC is planning a visit to the RLI Museum in Bedford, and then to proceed to Hatfield in order to pay respects at the RLI Troopie Statue which is now situated there.

On 16th September the Springbok Club/ELC has been invited to attend the launch of Graham Gillmore's new book in central London.

The Northern Ireland Branch of the Springbok Club/ELC will be holding a special branch get-together later this month, the details of which are as follows :-

Date  :   Sunday 20th June 2010

Time  :   From 15.00 hrs onwards

Venue :   The main bar of the Europa Hotel in Great Victoria Street, Belfast

The Kent Branch of the Springbok Club/ELC will be staging an informal gathering in Canterbury during the early summer, and the London Branch is planning a trip to the RAF Museum in Hendon later during 2010.

More precise details of both these events will be given in future editions of the SCN.

The Swinton Circle was most honoured to be invited to attend a special "Help for Heroes Day" (in support of armed services personnel wounded in the War against Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan) at Aylesbury RFC earlier this month. This proved to be a most enjoyable and inspiring day, and many good contacts were made as a result. The day itself proved a huge success, and although the organisers hoped initially to raise £5,000 for this most praiseworthy charity, in the event they collected over £8,500! Great thanks and congratulations are therefore extended by the Swinton Circle to Capt. Kevin Pope and everyone else involved in this noble venture.

The Swinton Circle will be staging a meeting at the Houses of Parliament towards the end of July which will be addressed by a recently re-elected MP. Fuller details will be given in next month's SCN.

We have recently received the following information from Ray Billingham concerning the proposed Class Action being undertaken at the International Court of Justice in The Hague on behalf of Rhodesian/Zimbabwean pensioners :-

This Class Action is initiated by R.B. Billington on behalf of the listed pensioners, citing the Zimbabwe Government, which has blocked payment of non-resident pensions and arrears since 2002. Our Human Rights Lawyer to plead our case in the International Court of Justice in the Hague and to demand that payment of pension entitlements to ex-residents of Zimbabwe be made a condition of any future aid procedures.
To All Zimbabwe Pensioners or their estates,

Recently, I received a pension settlement offer from the Old Mutual in Harare. It was unfairly calculated on the devalued Zimbabwe dollar.
I sent a copy of the offer to the British Embassy in Harare and asked for their advice. The Embassy reply was sympathetic, critical of the Zimbabwe government and recommended employing a Human Rights Lawyer. It is most unusual for an Embassy official to criticize the government of his host country and I consider his recommendation significant. Accordingly, with your cooperation, I will initiate a CLASS ACTION to obtain fair payment of Zimbabwe Pensions.

In a class action case, the lawyer is paid from the proceeds if he is successful. No money is paid up front. No debt is incurred by the petitioner apart from a percentage of the paid pensions if the Class Action is successful. Legal fees would range from 25% to 35%.

Our first task is to find out how many of you are still out there and willing to cooperate. If the number is acceptably high, I will investigate our legal options with a view to appointing a Human Rights lawyer. Our Petition, which now rests in the British Government's archives, will be a large part of the documentation. We hope that you will respond quickly and favourably. Pensioners will receive progress reports if the Class Action proceeds.

R.B. Billington

An extract from the Embassy letter follows:-

We continue to press the Zimbabwean pension authorities on their commitments to British pensioners. The amount shown on the Old Mutual return is deeply disappointing. Finances of so many people have been decimated by the manner in which the Zimbabwean economy has been managed.

Unfortunately we are unable to give pensions advice or intervene in individual cases. I suggest that you seek clarification from Old Mutual on how the figure has been reached based on your personal contributions.

Responsibility for Zimbabwean pensions rests with The Government of Zimbabwe. These pensions have not been funded or subsidised in any way by the British Government.

Whilst we are able to make representations to governments on Human rights issues we are not able to take direct action. A suitable human rights lawyer may be best placed to advise you in this"

N.B. This project can only be accomplished by email at this stage. If you do not have email facilities, friends or relatives may help.

The Class Action will proceed only if the response is acceptably good enough.

The local lawyer will appoint an international Human Rights Lawyer to plead our case in the ICJ and demand that payment of pension entitlements to ex-residents of Zimbabwe be made a condition of any future aid procedures.

A declaration of agreement and commitment to the Action is required, therefore, the following information should be provided:-

Name of Pensioner, or beneficiary of his estate (please state which).....

Address (e-mail and physical).....

I agree with this Class Action and commit myself to it pending further details....
Full Name of Pensioner or Beneficiary...........

Name of Pension Scheme .....

Address (e-mail and physical).....

Please provide the required information and return this entire email to:  This is the email address of my son-in law who will proceed with the Class Action if pensioners or their beneficiaries give him the numbers he needs.

Tigers are in trouble. Serious trouble. Recent population surveys tell the alarming story of the tiger's decline :-

The total number of wild tigers in Asia has dropped to fewer than 3,500.

In 2009 alone, India saw a 20% decrease in tiger numbers, while a survey in the Russia Far East showed a possible 30-40% decrease.

There are more tigers in cages than there are in the wild. In the U.S. alone, the captive tiger population is between 5,000 and 10,000 - most of which live in cramped and miserable conditions in roadside zoos, backyard breeding facilities, circus wagons and private homes.

Tiger farms in China not only keep tigers in awful conditions, but also kill them for the trade of their parts.

And this illegal trade of captive tiger parts is also stimulating the poaching of wild tigers.

There are three critical elements to IFAW's campaign to save tigers:-

1. Protecting Tigers Where They Live: IFAW and our partner, Wildlife Trust of India, equip and train hundreds of wildlife guards in protected areas in India. In the Russian Far East, IFAW supports the highly effective Khasan anti-poaching brigade to protect wild tigers in their natural habitat. And we rescue orphaned and injured tigers and release them into protected areas and conservation programmes.

2. Better Enforcement: Around the world, IFAW conducts intensive training programmes to help customs officials and border guards prevent the illegal trade in tigers and their parts, and to stop the smuggling of wildlife contraband.

3. Elimination of Trade: IFAW works to uphold international and domestic trade bans of tiger parts from all sources. We're educating consumers in many countries to reject products containing tigers and other wildlife, and we're working with the Traditional Medicine community to eliminate the demand for medicines made with tiger parts.

The Rhodesian Light Infantry Regimental Association in the UK (part of the world-wide RLI Regimental Association) has recently had a series of films on a single DVD created which tell the story of the Rhodesian Bush War, as seen through the eyes of the men who fought in it. This is a new set of films which are not in anyway related to those that have been around for a number of years, and the proceeds are to be used to maintain our Troopie statue, smuggled out of Zimbabwe, as well as the creation and maintenance of an RLI museum.

For more details about how to order this DVD please contact Mark Pilbeam at:

We have recently been contacted by Lara Johnstone from George in the Cape Province to tell us about a social science exercise which she has conducted in order to discover the attitude of the "new" South African elite to the rule of law, and whether they comprehend why there are now so many White refugees.

Unfortunately we do not have space to include her full report in this edition of the SCN, but include below her covering message and the links to the various web-pages which she has created :-
"I did a sort-of multi-task social science experiment recently, which I think you may find interesting. I wanted to find out what some of South Africa elite's commitment was to the Rule of Law, and also to find out what my chances were in my own legal mess. So I did a multi-tasking experiment. I am a big fan of the social psychologist Stanley Milgram, and his obedience studies. He always said that what people think they do, and who they think they are morally, is different than who they are when placed in a given situation.

"So, anyway, the result confirmed Stanley Milgram studies, where he found that 65% of society is mostly obedient, even if they know something is wrong, they won't speak up. If they have a friend who doesn't speak up, then 92% will refrain from speaking up. In my little home-made experiment, it turned out that 100% of our elite would refrain from supporting the Rule of Law if they disliked the person, either ethnically, culturally or ideologically.

"Anyway here are the links to the full research of the study, and the full 100% transparent correspondence to each South African elite individual :-

"Excerpts from the article: "140 SA Elite Confirm their Deliberate Indifference to Rule-of-Law; No objections to South African Government. Persecution of 'RH White Refugee'" can be accessed at :-

"PDF Memo: 140 SA Elite Say No Thanks to the Rule-of-Law :-

"PDF Report: Why We Are African White Refugees: The Rule of Law; or No Rules at All? :-

"I am also in the process of writing a cover letter to each European Head of State, via their Pretoria Embassy or High Commission, to provide them with a copy of the Report: Why We Are African White Refugees: The Rule of Law; or No Rules at All?"

Find any South African, even those who have emigrated. We also search Botswana, Namibia and ex-Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.

We have recently received the following most revealing report from a pro-Falkland Islands circulation list :-
"People might like to know that the Argentine media is now picking up the story in this morning's Sun newspaper that the nuclear submarine HMS Sceptre has been sent to the Falklands to deter any Argentine interference with oil exploration. It was on the morning TV news in Buenos Aires and is now on the INFOBAE and Clarin late news websites."

Biltongmakers.Com has, for the last 10 years, put a smile on many a South African face. No longer do they have to pay exorbitant prices for biltong that in most cases is not even to their liking!

Now you can make your own Biltong at a fraction of the price you pay right now and ...... you can make it the way YOU like it!

Please visit and see all they have available.

You will never be without some REAL South African Biltong again!

No.139 :  Mr. BOB SAMBRIDGE of Durban

Bob Sambridge was British by birth, but lived in Durban during the 1970s and early 1980s. A staunch pan-British patriot, he was a member of the Royal Society of St.George and was also a keen Rangers fan, being a founder member of the Rangers F.C. Supporters Association Durban Branch. He was also a keen cricketer, being originally a wicket-keeper in Natal club cricket, and subsequently a leading provincial umpire. Following his unexpected marriage to a South African girl circa. 1980 he is believed to have moved to the Transvaal, but a number of old friends would be very keen to learn where he is now.

In view of the most successful and inspiring "Help for Heroes Day" at Aylesbury RFC earlier this month, which was patronised by Swinton Circle members, we feel that readers may well like to view the "Help for Heroes" web-site. It can be accessed at :-

Michael Bowery's letter (SCN, May 2010) contained a number of small but significant errors, notably :-

1) Although only one person may have died in the Park Street, Johannesburg, Station bomb outrage, many more people died during the entire terrorist bombing campaign of Mandela's ANC. This I believe was the point made in the original article.

2) Although it is true that Mandela was charged with Sabotage rather than Terrorism (I'm not sure whether there was such a crime description in those days), the charge of Sabotage could have carried the death sentence. Indeed Percy Yutar pushed for the death sentence to be imposed, and it came as a surprise when the judge only imposed a life imprisonment sentence on Mandela.

3) Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment for his crimes, not 27 years. He was only released after 27 years because F.W. de Klerk decided to commute his sentence.

4) Mandela did indeed meet Percy Yutar after his release - but not to thank him. Rather it was to embarrass and gloat over a frail old man.

5) Although no arms cache may have been discovered at Lilieslief Farm in Rivonia, a significant quantity of arms and explosives were discovered near-by.

Yours etc.,
O. van der Westhuizen, Durban, Natal

Please point attendees and other contacts towards the Patriotic Poll: - an address book snowball (this includes everybody). Encouraging others to do the same can get the message out to the big wide world. The general synopsis here, as for the past 15 years as an individual, is that all smaller groups sit in their own cozy corners and talk to each other.

Once the facts of the underlying "big three" - Immigration, Islam and the EU - get into Mr & Mrs Everybody's sights they can't believe them and immediately get on the case. They've all got computers - test the market at the checkout - wherever. This is always met with rather an indignant "well, course I have" - real people - who have been sold down the proverbial river.

The info that comes in here is staggering - individuals, societies, shadow ministers, MPs, overseas contacts, "moles" - you name it! BELIEVE ME!

Yours etc.,

First we had Nelson Mandela singing his MK song to "KILL THE WHITES" and now we have Julias Sello Malema singing the ethnic cleansing song "KILL THE BOER, KILL THE WHITE FARMER" at the Johannesburg University ANCYL Black student meeting on 9th March 2010.

We Whites know this is all part of the ANC's hidden agenda of ethnic cleansing and genocide of Whites in South Africa.

Since 1994 more than 45,000 Whites have been brutally murdered by Blacks. 3,110 White Farmers have been tortured and brutally murdered by Blacks.

The ANC Government has NOT stopped Julias from singing these race hate songs to brainwash the Blacks and seem to approve of his behaviour.

In view of the above it is only fair that we Whites also have a song to sing. My proposal, first draft: "We the members of White Freedom Fighters have pledged ourselves to kill them, kill the Malema's, kill the ANC Black terrorists, kill them all".

What do you think Julias? I know it's a bit rough but with a little work we could turn it into the National Anthem. Don't worry Julias it's only a SONG, we Whiteys all LOVE you.

Julias you are a Joke a minute, you make my day.

Yours etc.,
Snowy Smith, Durban, Natal

Most readers will probably recall the name of Mr. Allan Robertson, the former leading official of our movement who had to be expelled from the Swinton Circle in January 2009 for gross misconduct, following a failed "coup" attempt on his part to oust the democratically elected Chairman and take-over the organisation with the aid of a small clique of known political extremists.

Mr. Robertson initially tried to cause trouble for the organisation following his expulsion by attempting sabotage campaigns and staging "rival" meetings under the old name of "The London Swinton Circle", but he had very few backers - indeed apart from his little sidekick Mr. Daniel Wilkinson and another associate who were also expelled for their parts in the failed "coup" attempt (incidentally the other associate has recently been making overtures to be re-admitted to the official Swinton Circle!) his only supporters seem to have been the same clique of neo-fascists who he brought in to cause trouble in the first place. More recently, however, Mr. Robertson seemed to have accepted that what had happened had happened, and ceased his sabotage campaigns against the official Swinton Circle, and stopped holding "rival" meetings.

Now, alas, he apparently seems to be reviving his trouble-making activities. He has posted another Internet smear against leading officials of the Swinton Circle, and has also apparently staged a further "rival" meeting - the first for several months.

Quite obviously therefore Mr. Robertson is still living in an acute state of denial, and still cannot accept that his "coup" attempt of 2008 utterly failed. His trouble-making campaign is becoming more than just a nuisance however. Vital time and energy is being expended by the Swinton Circle in counteracting his sabotage tactics which would otherwise be expended in positive activities to advance the cause, and the good reputation of the Swinton Circle could be damaged by confusion with his phoney "London Swinton Circle" and the neo-fascist elements who are associated with it. Moreover the reputations of the gullible guest speakers who he attracts to address his "rival" meetings could be hugely compromised and embarrassed. Quite obviously therefore Mr. Robertson's dirty-tricks activities must be stopped, and stopped quickly.

Legal action against Mr. Robertson has been considered, but unfortunately as he is known to be a man of limited financial means this would not be a viable option. Far better therefore if he could be exposed as widely as possible as the grudge-bearing impostor which he is, and wide-scale warnings issued that he should not be touched with a bargepole. In this regard if any supporter who hears anything about any further smears which he might post, or any further "rival" meeting which he might try to stage, could let us know the details as soon as possible then we would be most grateful.

Finally, if you would prefer to be deleted from our SCN circulation list then simply e-mail us with the word "unsubscribe". Alternatively, if you liked this SCN and think more of your friends would like to receive copies then please let us know their e-mail addresses!
